Zur 13. Ausgabe des Kunst- und Kulturfestivals Begehungen betreten wir einen Ort mit derzeit 0 Dezibel. Bestimmt sonst die Örtlichkeit den erlaubten Lärmpegel und die Art der Zusammenkunft, soll hier die Kunst eine Umnutzung schaffen, die ihrem eigenen Pegel entspricht. In einer Diktatur der Stille wird der Laut zum revolutionären Akt. Es gilt, eine Welt zu erschaffen, sich einen Raum zu nehmen, laut oder leise. Einzufordern, was niemandem gehört.
Zwischen 35 und 70 Dezibel kommen wir vielleicht auf einen gemeinsamen Nenner.

Unter dem frei interpretierbaren Leitgedanken TA LÄRM rufen wir dazu auf, künstlerische Arbeiten einzureichen oder sich mit einem freien Konzept auf eine vierwöchige Residenz in Chemnitz zu bewerben. Dieser Open Call richtet sich an sämtliche künstlerische Ausdrucksformen, die sich unter diesem Thema eine freie Auseinandersetzung vorstellen können.

Alle von einer fünfköpfigen Fachjury ausgewählten Arbeiten werden in Chemnitz vom 18. - 21. August 2016 ausgestellt und unter hoher Medienpräsenz von einem vielfältigen Rahmenprogramm aus Musik, Lesungen und Workshops begleitet.

The first one to break the silence sets the agenda. At least until the next one shouts even louder. For the 13th edition of the Chemnitz arts and culture festival Begehungen, we enter a space with a current sound level of 0 Decibel. Where usually the location constitutes the permissible sound level and thus nature of the get-together, now art should create a conversion, complying with nothing but its own level. In a dictatorship of silence, the sound becomes a revolutionary act. It's up to us to create a world, occupy a space, quietly or loud. To claim what's no ones yet. In between 35 and 70 decibel, we may find common ground. Under the freely interpretable guiding principle 'TA LÄRM' we are calling for the application with works of art or a free concept for a four-week residency in Chemnitz. This Open Call goes out to all kinds of artistic expressions related to free artistic explorations of the mentioned topic. All works chosen by a professional jury of five will be exhibited in Chemnitz (Germany) from 18th until 21st August 2016 amidst high media presence against the background of a diverse support program comprised by music, lectures and orkshops.
